The job interview can turn you into a powder keg of nerves. Interview is a life time opportunity for every candidate because it can be a first step in his/her career. You should be fully prepared before interview and rehearse it various times with your friends. You should prepare unique and professional answers of common interview questions and review your main course books related to position you are going to interview. Do your homework before going to interview; it will keep you from imploding after a barrage of tough interview questions. You must face these questions because these are designed to test you to illuminate your faults. Don’t let them. They are also designed to let your experience and personality shine if you know how. Here are five most common questions that must be asked in every interview.

Tell me about yourself?

It is not a technical question, but you should get ready for it. This is the part of interview not an invitation for you to share your personal detail like what you did last night or what kind of music you like most. You need to prepare short answers about your personal information but you should be prepared naturally for sound and unrehearsed questions. Try to keep your answers work related (experience and education) but can veer off a little so you don’t come off as a robot or a complete kiss ass. Avoid bragging and be confident, back up what you say with examples.

Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years?

This is a most common question and interviewer considered it important to determine your career objectives. You can answer this question like: I wish to find a home with association where there are opportunities for progression and I can continue to grow as a professional. Try to keep your answer short.

Tell me about one of your ideas that made a project more efficient?

Interviewer can ask this question to judge your proficiencies. You must have such ideas that you can proposed. Every employer love huge success and you are awarded with extra points if you have one superb idea that is applicable to type of job you are applying for. This one idea you will definitely need to prepare beforehand unless you are indeed a robot.

Tell me about a time you disagree with your manager and how you resolved it?

This is a red flag question because interviewers are looking for reason to dislike you. You should find a valid example of when you had a project-based problem and how you came to a conclusion. If you try to dodge this question and pretended you have no problems with your boss, then you will lose points. Don’t get into any personal issue that you had with your boss. If you are a new candidate in job market then you can use an example of an issue you had with professor and how you resolved it. If you are so likable and pleasant that you don’t have any problem with anyone, consider yourself lucky and make something up.

What are your strengths and what are some things you need to work on?

This is another trap question and don’t fall for it. For your strengths obviously you should offer things that will benefit company. You can mention, I work well with other, I thrive under pressure, I am well organized etc. For things to work on or in short your weaknesses you can reply in such a way that represents you are trying to overcome your weaknesses like avoid low hanging fruit of I am a perfectionist, I work too hard and I am too giving. You should point small deficiencies of your last job. You can say I would like to get more experience with company’s layout.

You can ask question like do you provide training classes for employees? This shows that you already have some knowledge so you are eager to improve yourself and ass value to organization. Keep your answers concise and short. Be honest and don’t provide any fake information.

Airline career is one of the most demanding and rewarding careers. Working for an airline means getting reduced or free flights and chances to travel whole world. Work of an airline customer service representative is a challenging job. Airline customer service representative needs to work for long and unexpected shifts on holiday or weekends. Rerouting angry customers and tracking lost luggage are just few job requirements. Regardless of job difficulties, few applicants get hired for this position. In almost all interviews professionalism is required. Potential employers are in search of those candidates who have excellent communication and management skills. Candidate must have problem solving skills to deal with problematic customers. Competition for these jobs is very tough and if you want to build a sound career in airline industry then you should thoroughly prepare for job interview.

Keep a Positive, Professional Deportment

Airline employers need energized employees, who also energize fellow co-workers and customers in mundane and stressful setting. Human resources desire employees who radiate professionalism, magnetism and a willingness to go beyond protocol to help their customers. These traits can be exemplified before first question is asked. You should show hiring team that you are prime candidate by maintaining good posture, keeping a relaxed smile on face and showing attentive, expressive eye contact.

Emphasize Cool Headedness

Human resource wants to know your reaction under stress due to pressure filled nature of working for an airline. You should explain your enthusiasm to diffuse problem by working with customer instead angering them further by regurgitating rules at them. Before interview write and commit to memory at least five examples of how you calmly handled an angry customer ideally and how customer walked away satisfied. Preferably go to airport before interview and from a distance look at the activities of customer service representatives that how they handle customers. You should notice their body language and take note of what they say to customers during cancelation or delays. When during interview you are asked question about handling stressed customers in an airport setting, provide them same answer given by airline staff.

Research Rules and History of Company

The job of human resources is determined if you fit in with company. Instead of leaving speculation to them, explain in clear terms why you are best fit by citing what you appreciate most about company culture. If you are applying for a position of Delta, read their customer services policies. If they asked why you are best fit, explain that you want to be a part of dedicated team to proactively solve problems like contacting customers two hours before a flight due to cancellations.

You can use job description as a study guide for potential interview questions. Relate job requirements and skills given in job description with your previous job.

Marriage to a US citizen is one of the greatest ways to attain a green card. There are two ways to obtain a green card for a foreign spouse depending on where he or she is at. If foreign spouse is already has US residency then he might be qualified to file for adjustment of status. If foreigner is outside the U.S, he should apply for an immigrant visa through U.S consulate. In both cases a petition is required by U.S citizen spouse or resident. If you are applying to become a lawful permanent resident of United States through marriage with a U.S citizen, you will have to attend a marriage green card interview at some point. This typically takes place from 6 to 12 months after your application.

It is important that you should properly prepare for your marriage green card interview otherwise you can experience a delay in approval of your case. Your application can be denied if you don’t present proper information at your interview. Here are some guidelines to be prepared for a marriage green card interview:

You should assemble documentations of a bona fide marriage, even if you are submitted it with your initial AOS application. You also need items like cards, notes, letters, emails, photos and other mementos are helpful. You should also include bills or assets in joint names like utility or telephone bills, bank account statements, tax returns, property deeds and titles to automobiles. This is not a comprehensive list of items to prove bona fide marriage for your green card interview. In addition to all these items you can bring whatever else you think clearly reveals that you are in a true marriage.

You should be ready to present updated financial information. The immigration service will want to see that combined income of U.S citizen spouse and immigrant spouse is at least 125% of federal poverty level. If income is below from this level you will need to get a co sponsor to meet this requirement. It can sometimes be hard to prove that you meet this requirement especially for students or if both spouses have stated a new job or earning is drastically less than previous year. You can bring at least three years worth of tax returns, as well as few months of a paystubs and a current employer letter stating rate of pay, hours worked and good prospects of continued employment.

Bring your passport with non-immigrant visa, all I-94s, and employment sanction card for your marriage green card interview. Immigration officer will want to review these and if your case is approved, you will receive a stamp on your passport that will serve as a temporary evidence of your status as a permanent or conditional U.S resident. You should also bring your original birth certificates, marriage certificates and any other document needed to enter U.S along with documents issued by immigration service.

Babysitter is eminent from nanny by term of employment. Several parents have a regular babysitter they can call on as they need. Babysitter is typically contracted one night at a time, while a nanny is employed over an extended period of time. Parents are rationally hard to please when it comes to leaving their child or children in care of complete alien. If you are going for babysitter interview then it is important to know how to answer babysitter interview questions. They need to be reassured that you are a professional and can care children with responsibility and consistency. Parents also want to ensure that candidate can carry out their both explicit and implicit wishes. The way in which you answer babysitter interview questions can quickly make or break your job opportunities. You need to follow below mentioned instruction to answer babysitter interview questions:

Greet parents with love and passion. Parents want to make sure that their child will be in the hands of caring and compassionate person. These impressions are usually formed upon initial introduction. Don’t forget to keep smile on your face and try to be extra polite.

Try to keep interview as informal and conversational as you can. Try to find out ordinary ground as soon as possible. Try to engage parents with more than simple answers to their questions. Parents want to get an overall sense of who you are rather than just verbal answers to their questions.

Be prepared for tough and even personal questions. The parents want to uncover any red flags you might have and will ask invasive questions if they feel that answers are important.

Questions concerning sexual orientation, religion and political beliefs might be considered as relevant and important question from parents’ point of view. Always remember that honesty is the best policy so answer all questions honestly. Although, you can respectfully decline to answer if you wish.

You should bring a resume with you as well as a sheet of references for parents to confirm your experience and background. This will demonstrate them you are professional.

Familiarize yourself in advance on methods of early child education and cognitive development so that you can let the parents know that you are informed in how to engage with child rather than simply being a reflexive babysitter. Parents are expecting to their child’s sitter to provide more than just a watchful eye and include methods of learning in their style of care.

You should treat interview for babysitter positions as interview in any large company. Take proper care about your dressing, dress professionally and present yourself as you are interviewing by a prospective boss. Remember that hiring a babysitter is one of most important issues for parents. Parents need to be certain that you are more than just a stranger off the street for their young children.

Don’t lie at any time during interview even if it means that you lose this job. Try to provide all answers straightforwardly, especially when it comes to issues like as medical training. A lie during interview could result in legal repercussions later on, and will surely affect your aptitude to be hired to potential job opportunities.

Security jobs are in high demand in a variety of fields. Officers and guards play an imperative role in providing public safety, transportation protection, border patrol and ensuring that property is safe from intruders. Obtaining a job in security usually requires a clean background check and nailing the interview. Candidates need to give more attention on the preparation of interview. Candidate should need to practice few things like a firm hand shake, maintain a good eye contact because security employees must adopt these techniques to leave a good first impression during job interview. Here are some useful guidelines for those candidates who are going to interview for security positions:

Conduct Research

Conduct research on company you seek to join. You can get in touch with someone who works in security division of business and ask for a brief overview of their jobs. Accustom yourself with recent developments of company and inject this information in your answers. For instance, if you are interviewing for insurance company, ask how rise of insurance frauds affects company’s security division, if at all.

Dignity and Behavior

Hiring managers want employees who can satisfactorily respond under stress and can identify potential security threats. You should convey your ability by stressing on how well you can react under pressure. You can provide your responses under a “problem reaction solution” framework. You can express problems like how you react and solutions as a result of your efforts. You will write down three such instances and recite them in front of mirror before interview with the help of your past experience. Commit these stories to memory so you can convey these stories to hiring manager without hesitating or stammering.

You should think about situation in advance where you handled a high stress situation and how your efforts provide better results to company. Moreover explain a circumstance under which you noticed something out of ordinary situation and tell your way to investigate problems. Mention your communication skills during interview and how you relayed information in clear-headed, concise manner to your superiors.

Confidentiality

Security employees are often privy of confidential information. You should express your reliability by mentioning any instances of getting security clearance from your previous organization. You can also mention any circumstances under which you were entrusted with confidential information. You will state that you only share confidential information with people privy to such knowledge as sketched out by guidelines. You must explain that you can go to manager if you find any person’s clearance in doubt.

Scheduling and Flexibility

You must state your willingness to work for long hours, holidays and overtime to increase your chances of employment. Several firms have security officers working in the middle of night, Sunday evenings, Christmas Eve and other off-hours. Some shifts are allocated on the basis of bid system and seniority, so expect working off-hours during first few years.

A retail management candidate will get significantly different kinds of questions than a floor employee would get. Prepare answers of questions about several topics like:

What you observe about duties of a manager to be?

The method or style of management you prefer to use?

How would you react in situations like firing an employee or dealing with angry customer?

If you prepare sound answers for each question then you can confidently appear in interview as well as you can sound all questions confidently.

Your Anecdotes

Retail management is a very situational position because a retail manager needs to deal with public throughout the day. He needs to deal with unique situations on regular basis. If you want to impress interviewer then you should prepare anecdotes about:

How you can deal with a difficult customer?

How you punished an incompetent employee?

How you helped to diffuse a customer altercation with an employee that was getting out of hand?

What is your approach about your job to help you to handle a critical situation?

The company is just interested in candidates who are personally interested in handling bad situations. This shows that how well you know retail management position.

Java is a programming language formerly developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems which is now auxiliary of Oracle Corporation and released in 1995 as a core element of Sun Microsystems Java platform. The language drives its lot of syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler object model and fewer low facilities. Java applications are usually compiled to bytecode (Class file) that run on any Java Virtual Machine (JVM) despite of computer structural design. Java is a general-purpose, synchronized, class-based, object-oriented language that is specifically designed to have a few implementations dependencies as possible. It is deliberated to let application developers “write once, run anywhere”. Java is presently one of the most popular programming languages in use and is widely used from application software to web applications.

Interview for a Java programming positions can be a bit daunting, particularly if this is your first interview for this line of work. Your good attitude, determination and confidence direct you toward rewarding career in a fast growing field.

Dress Professionally

You will need to dress professionally even if job advertisement states that it is a casual work environment. This requires a suit and tie for men and a business suit for women as well as minimal jewelry and clean, polished shoes. This is your only chance to make first good impression so be sure to dress for success. This will indicate to interviewer that you are serious about your success in company.

Appear with Full Preparation

You should bring example of your work on CD as well as links to example JSPs (Java Server Pages) created by you. This will be your one opportunity to really sell your skills and show off your work. Ensure to bring copy of your college transcripts, and extra copy of your resume and any letters of recommendation you might have from previous instructor or employers.

Show Your Interest in Company

You should be prepared to ask question as well as answer them. You can ask about culture of company and also ask your interviewer their persuasions about company and why they enjoy working there. You should do some research on company prior to your interview perhaps it is most important. This will help you to express what you know about company’s history and philosophies. This shows your genuine interest in company as well as your future growth within it.

In panel interview candidates are interviewed by a group of people as opposed to one person at a time. Panel interview can be very intimidating but if you are well prepared sufficiently, you need not to be overwhelmed by prospect. Typically panel interviews are done to involve various people in interview process and company is trying to get everyone involved without making interview process unnecessarily long. You can anticipate rest of candidates for position, subjected to same panel interview and same questions. You should prepare for interview a few days before, review your resume and arm yourself with information about company you are interviewing with. If you prepared for interview few days before in advance, you can feel confident in your answers and can successfully impress panel. Following instructions will help you to ace a panel interview.

Good First Impression

Good first impression is very important during any interview but this is predominantly accurate when being interviewed by a panel of people. You should arrive a few minutes early for interview, dress to impress, keep an extra copy of resume with you in case they are needed and also bring a pen and paper to take notes. Give a firm hand shake to all members of panels and introduced you with a smiley face. Keep a constant eye contact with all members of panel. At the start of interview ask panel members if they don’t mind if you take notes, then quickly write down their names according to where they are sitting so you can address them by their names. You can use their name while answer a question this demonstrates good communication skills.

Do Homework

Before interview be prepared for panel’s questions by role playing interview with friend or family member. Panel interview usually include a variety of questions arraying from job experience to behavioral questions that include how you handle yourself in specific situations. In panel interview there are very few yes or no simple questions. Interviewers like to ask role play questions about your past work experience and your way to handled challenges on the job. Be confident and avoid rambling, ensure that you are giving direct answers to questions.

Confidence

Be confident because each panel member will take turn by asking a variety of questions. Try to keep an eye contact with person asking question. Provide direct answers confidently and don’t get nervous if you don’t have an answer right away. Don’t try to put prompt answer of any question. Take a moment to gather your thoughts then provide your answer. Panel members will likely be taking notes during your interview. Don’t be nervy by this. They aren’t taking notes because they don’t like your answers, they are just making sure to remember how you responded to their questions.

Thank the Panel

At the end of interview before leaving interview room say thanks to interview panel. Reinforce one last time how much you are looking forward to join their company and you think that you can be a great asset for their organization. If they don’t tell you when you will be hearing from them regarding their decision, you can ask about it.

Initial liability of Secret Service was to inspect crimes related to Treasury and then advanced into United States first domestic intelligence and counter intelligence agency. Various agencies’ missions were later taken by consequent agencies like FBI, ATF and IRS. The Secret Service is a special branch of law enforcement with locations around world. The job of department is to guard president of United States, vice president, presidential candidates and other important personalities. If you are interested in becoming member of Secret Service, prepare yourself for a rigorous procedure. In addition to interviews, you will also need to pass a background check and home examination.

Primary Interview

If you want to apply for a position with Secret Service you need to fill out an application and then mail it back. The department looks at your total record like educational background and work experience. If you qualify first round, you are called and scheduled for a primary interview. This interview is inevitable to weigh your responses to simple questions and to get a feel for your personality. Prepare yourself for interview by working out and getting yourself in shape. Dressing creates your first impression so dress professionally for interview and maintain a positive attitude. Avoid unnecessary explanation and try to answer all questions concisely but explain all relevant things. You can also ask questions of your own like required training. It shows that you are truly interested in job.

Panel Interview

After completion of primary interview, interviewer makes recommendation about your future. Only those candidates who pass first interview are invited to attend panel interview. The panel interview typical consists of three individuals who ask various questions. You should be fully prepared for interview by running over sample questions and practicing beforehand. The questions typically include a few hypotheticals to test you. For example, an interviewer might ask what your reaction is if you saw a close friend breaking law. Prepare yourself for questions like:

Why you want to work for Secret Service?

What qualities would make you a good agent?

What are your feelings if you had move across country and you have no other choice to complete your final assignment?

Home Interview

Home interviews basically focus on your family instead of you. Secret Service uses this interview to see how others feel and think about you.
