Interview Tips

Waitress is a service provider profession in food industry. Waitresses provide food or beverage items from table to table to facilitate customers. Here are some tips for Waitress Interview; if you successfully follow these tips then you can make your interview a job winning interview:

Preparation before Interview

• Do your homes work before interview in home.
• Dress appropriately according to your job like if you are applying for waitress position in bar then wear fashionable attires because bars employers preferred fashionable and mod girls.
• Practice your interview questions before mirror or before your friends and family or colleagues to gain confidence.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before interview time.
• Be sure to switch off your cell phone before entering in the room of interview.

During Interview

• Enter into the room with smile on face and greet the employer with firm handshake.
• Maintain frequent eye contact during interview.
• Keep smiling, be confident & polite and try to be relaxed.
• Before replying any question listen it carefully. You can again ask the question from interviewer if you are confused about it.
• When you are going to adopt waitress occupation then let you prospective employer know about your skills. You can discuss following details with your employer like

(1)   You can check the customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meal and take prompt action if they have any problem.

(2)   You can explain menu items to customers with whole ingredients and cooking methods.

(3)   You can also tell the customers about daily special dishes.

(4)   You can prepare inspection about total meal and sales taxes.

(5)   You will take off dishes and glasses from tables or counters and bring them to kitchen for washing.

(6)   You can present menu items and can explain all quires about menu.

(7)   You can serve food or beverages to customers as they required.

(8)   You can also work in stock services area and supplies there food, coffee, table wear and linen.

At the End of Interview

• Before leaving the interview place thank the interviewers for their time and again shake hand firmly.
• Send thank you note after reaching your home to be prominent among other candidates.

Accept Your Rejection

• If employer doesn’t select you then think positively and consider following matters:

(1)   Avoid from putting direct question from interviewer that why you weren’t offered job?

(2)   Accept this situation that you are not successful and try to ask constructive questions.

(3)   You can ask questions like “How could you improve yourself? What are your weak points during interview?” You can also ask any kind of specific advice from interviewer for your self improvement.

(4)   You should always avoid from argue with interviewer that his way of assessment or his/her assessment is wrong about you. If you try to argue with employer then you can close further doors of opportunities for you.
