Job Description for Air-Hostess
Basic duty of air-hostess is to welcome and help travelers to make their journey as smooth and comfortable as possible. She provides in-flight information, authenticates emergency devices and serves passengers with different food items and drinks. She is also responsible to give special attention to those travelers who are travelling by privilege class and to those who are sick. Airhostess is required to work sometimes at unusual times depending on flight schedule. She is also required to handle critical situations, angry and irritant passengers calmly and patiently. She teaches different safety rules and regulations for safe flying. She usually helps passengers in wearing seat belts during landing and take-off of plane.

Job Duties
Responsible for conveying safety rules & regulations to passengers in flight.- Provide briefings to pilot about flight plans.

- Deal with security and emergency situations.
- Say welcome to all passengers and take proper care for their comfort.
- Make in-flight announcements.
- Serve meals and drinks to passengers.
- Take prior information about emergency equipment including first-aid kit.
- Check tickets and sitting plans of passengers.
- Assist passengers in loading carry-on baggage and finding their seat belts.

Working Conditions
Air-hostess usually conduces to work in irregular hours but they often work in evenings, holidays or weekends. A shift can continue for 14 hours for domestic flight and more than 14 hours for international flight. Approximately they spend 65-90 hours in air per month. The over time is paid usually according to hours as per promised in their contracts. Airline facilitates them with meal allowances if the flight attendants are away from homes. Usually most airlines provide formal training to newly hired flight staff that can be 3-8 weeks long.
